SUNSHINE was unceremoniously dumped from the Western Region Football League division 1 finals.
In atrocious conditions at Chirnside Park in Werribee, the Kangaroos were annihilated by a massive 103 points at the hands of a fired-up and merciless Spotswood in the preliminary final on Saturday.
The rot set in early for the Kangaroos. They could manage only one first-half goal to trail by 68 points at half-time. Spotswood, the minor premier, came out with all guns blazing to erase the pain of the previous week's semi-final loss to Albion and never looked likely to lose from the time it posted the opening five goals of the match.
The better players for the Kangaroos were Ben Davis, Jake Trevaskis and player-coach Brett Jacobs.
Patrick Wiggins fought hard to boot two goals.
The Woodsmen meet Albion in the grand final at Chirnside Park on Saturday.
The first bounce is at 2.15pm. North Footscray was crowned division 2 premiers with a five-point victory over Parkside at Chirnside Park on Sunday. Devils' half-forward Sam Kater was adjudged best on ground.
