SUNSHINE Kangaroos has set up an all-Brimbank showdown with the Albion Cats in week one of the Western Region Football League division 1 finals.
The Kangaroos cruised to a 120-point win over wooden spooners West Footscray away at Shorten Reserve after five-goal contributions from Stephen Considine and Mitchell Williams.
The Cats wrapped up second spot on the ladder in a 121-point derby win over Sunshine Heights at JR Parsons Reserve.
Cats forward James Stephens claimed best-on-ground honours with six goals.
The qualifying final will be played at JK Grant Reserve in Altona on Saturday.
It promises to be a thrilling opening to the finals.
The Kangaroos won the first meeting back in April by 70 points, but the Cats hit back two months later to win by 36.
The Cats, by virtue of their strong recent form, will go in as favourites.
St Albans, on the back of five goals apiece to Ashley Craig and Tim Jenkins, has sneaked into the finals, courtesy of a 96-point thumping of Glenorden at Heatherdale Reserve.
The Saints have set up an elimination final bout with the Altona Vikings on Sunday.
The game will controversially be played on the home ground of the Vikings, despite the Saints finishing ahead of them on the ladder.
This anomaly has occurred due to ground shortages at this time of the year.
The head-to-head meetings saw the Vikings win both encounters.
Spotswood claimed the minor premiership and will enjoy a direct route to week two of the finals.
