NWMCA: Cougars feel the heat

31 Jan, 2012 12:00 AM
KEALBA-GREEN Gully stumbled on day one of its high-profile Luscombe Shield clash with Pascoe Vale Central on Saturday in the North West Metropolitan Cricket Association.

The Cougars will be ruing their decision to bat first after posting 145 off 65.4 overs at Green Gully Reserve.

The rot set in at the top when the usually reliable Evan Long and Danny Viani fell cheaply as the Cougars slumped to 2-4.

Andrew Lambropoulos (19), Matthew Nadzielski (17), David Morris (26) and Balraj Randhawa (31) tried to spark the Cougars, but the Centrals had an answer to every challenge and were cruising on 0-34 at stumps.

Sydenham-Hillside Storm has already wrapped up first innings points over Roxburgh Park on the road at Lakeside Drive Reserve.

The hosts were rolled for just 81 and the Storm went to stumps on 4-128 with an outright win in their sights this Saturday.

Luscombe Shield: Kealba-Green Gully 145 (Randhawa 31 Morris 26) v Pascoe Vale Central 0-34, Roxburgh Park 81 v Sydenham-Hillside 4-128.
