SUNSHINE has unleashed its batting force in the Baseball Victoria summer league division 2.
The Eagles vented their offensive fury to crush the Moorabbin Panthers 9-2 at the Melbourne Ball Park on Thursday night.
Eagles player-coach Shaun Moore told the Weekly his side's early season batting blues were nothing but a distant memory.
"We're really confident in the box now," he said.
"We're moving runners along and rolling them in."
The tireless Adam Irons lasted the full seven innings on the mound for the Eagles.
With the exception of coughing up a couple of early runs, Irons looked in total command and was backed up by a stingy defence.
The offence was led superbly by Chad Galloway, Brad Jones, Scott Moore and Shannon Hornstra.
The Eagles have strung together seven consecutive wins to be elevated to contender status in the state's second tier.
Moore and his players have set the bar high for the remainder of the season.
"The boys know what we want to achieve this year and are working hard to get it," he said.
"The team that finishes on top goes straight into division 1 and that's what we're aiming for."
The Eagles will face Berwick City at the Melbourne Ball Park tomorrow at 8.50pm and host Sandringham at Barclay Reserve on Sunday.
