Tiger town

21 Feb, 2012 12:00 AM
A CAROLINE Springs junior basketball team will get the chance to mix it with the best when the Melbourne Tigers roll into town next month.

Members of the Tigers' NBL coaching and playing staff will run a clinic for under-11 girls' team The Mixtures (pictured) at Caroline Springs College's Lakeview campus on March 21.

Coach Troy Spry says the visit was organised after he sent the club an email.

"I wanted to take the girls to a professional game and contacted the Tigers about taking them as a team. They gave us tickets and will let the girls play before their home match on March 23. We were delighted when they told us they would be happy to run a clinic for us."

He says the clinic and match will be an unforgettable experience.

"They are so excited by this and they can't wait to meet the Tigers players."

The visit is not open to the public.
