YOUNG readers flocked to Sunshine library on February 14 for the Brimbank launch of the National Year of Reading.
Author John Marsden (pictured) joined council administrators and more than 100 residents for the event, which included a group photo of people who brought their favourite book along.
Participants were given a free library bag with a USB wristband, a library reading list magnet and bookmark.
The National Year of Reading is designed to encourage children to read and inspire keen readers to continue learning.
