THREE Taylors Lakes Secondary College students have had their work selected for a Top Designs exhibition.
Managed by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority, Top Designs is a major component of the VCE season of excellence, which features exemplary student design in a range of studies such as design and technology, food and technology, systems engineering and media.
Alexander Mauro Borghetti, Sahala Daniel Leokoy and Michelle Spiteri's multimedia projects are among the 1000 outstanding works on show.
It's an important stepping stone in their budding careers.
Teacher Catherine Damon said the trio worked closely last year and were among the best students she had had in her 20-year career.
"They were so committed in the classroom. They really worked well together, sharing ideas and supporting each other."
Mr Borghetti, who is studying civil engineering at RMIT University, created a game about vegetables. "I made a game about a guy who doesn't like vegetables, but the vegetables want to take revenge. It took a few months to develop the project. It was hard setting the script in the background."
This year is the 10th anniversary of Top Designs. To celebrate the work of former students, from March 27 to June 27 the National Gallery of Victoria will host a photographic display of work by exhibitors over the past nine years.
