POLICE are calling on witnesses who saw a student being robbed in St Albans to come forward.

An international student who got off a train at Ginnifer train station on August 27 was approached by a group of men at the intersection of Furlong Road and Levinia Street.

The 22-year-old was grabbed from behind and dragged to the ground before being punched and kicked.

He was left with facial injuries and bruising.

The leader of the group demanded the student’s wallet and backpack which he handed over, and the leader also demanded to know the student’s computer password.

The leader is believed to be of Asian appearance, about 16 years old, with dark shoulder-length hair.

He was wearing a black-hooded top and dark pants.
