Offenders caught in Deer Park blitz

A POLICE operation in Deer Park last Wednesday picked up dozens of offenders.

The automatic numberplate recognition blitz along Station Road checked hundreds of vehicles and conducted 480 breath tests.

Police nabbed two suspended drivers and three unlicensed drivers, while 21 unregistered vehicles were detected.

Other offences included failing to display L-plates (2), breaching licence conditions (3), failing to wear seatbelts (3), and using a mobile phone (2).

Police also detected an unaccompanied learner driver, a disqualified driver and an unregistered and unlicensed driver who gave a false name.

Eleven unroadworthy notices were issued.
