YOUTH in Caroline Springs will learn how to cope with issues like bullying as part of a series of self-esteem workshops.
The Reach Foundation will conduct the workshops at Caroline Springs Library and Civic Centre from February 21-March 20.
'Fused' is open to local youths aged 13-17 and will include fun and thought-provoking activities designed to help teenagers learn more about themselves.
Caroline Springs' Senior Constable Naomi Sayers welcomed the program.
She said many young people in the north-west needed support to deal with problems in their lives.
"There are kids out there who have been victims of bullying, who might have developed self-esteem issues ... this program offers them a chance to talk about what's bothering them in a safe, non-judgmental environment," Senior Constable Sayers said.
"The crew members who conduct the sessions are trained to work with young people.
''This program has run in previous years and been a big success.
''We've seen some positive changes in young people who have taken part in it."
Reach was established in 1994 by AFL Brownlow medallist Jim Stynes and Australian film director Paul Currie to inspire young people to believe in themselves and get the most out of life.
The workshops cost $5 per session and will take place each Tuesday from 6-8pm.
