Brimbank Council wins planning awards

01 Nov, 2011 01:00 AM
A SYSTEM that helps plan new housing developments has earned Brimbank Council a planning award.

The 'interactive multivariate analysis tool' (IMAT) picked up the president's award at this week's Planning Institute of Australia awards.

The council's strategic planning and assets teams also won the best planning ideas award (small project category).

Administrator Peter Lewinsky said IMAT allowed town planners to measure the liveability, development capacity and suitability of sites in Brimbank.
