A CAROLINE SPRINGS barista on the verge of national success says she simply loves making coffee.
Wild Bean Cafe manager Adriana Ivtingioski has been named a finalist in the chain's national barista competition for the past five years and was again in the running this year.
But as much as she loves her own creations, Ms Ivtingioski says she limits herself to drinking only two coffees a day.
Ms Ivtingioski, who makes up to 100 coffees a day, has become widely known for her creamy latte creations.
And she says the serious business of making quality coffee is reliant on two things - beans and baristas.
Ms Ivtingioski makes her signature coffees by creating an inventive froth. She also plays with different flavours by introducing muesli to those that want breakfast and coffee on the go.
While nerves had let her down at previous finals, she was feeling more confident this time around.
"I tried to have fun with it rather than being nervous," Ms Ivtingioski says.
She was one of three Victorian baristas who put their coffee skills on show in front of a panel of judges for the chance to win prizes including a $8000 trip to Brazil.
The nation's top 14 baristas prepared five hot beverages in 20 minutes, which were assessed on taste, appearance and commercial viability.
"They looked at our skills, the way we make coffee and clean the machine, everything."
